Set on the shoreline of La Perouse, this work is inspired by my grandmother, Lola Ryan, and reflects the practice of shell collecting and its significance within Aboriginal culture. Shells have long been used to make tools, fishhooks and adornments and continue to play an important role in Aboriginal artistic traditions.
